    Forum Description

On the shelf, you can expect Cerakote to last a year at the most. Instead of throwing away expensive coating, try this instead!

Storing Cerakote in a refrigerator will make it last longer and prevent it from freezing. We set our fridge temp to 55° and have had bottles that were around 2 years old still spray fine.

We store all of our coating, clearcoat, hardener, microslick, and acetone bottles in the refrigerator.

Do not store any food or beverages with the coating!

If you keep your coating on a bench or in a cabinet, the changes in temp will cause you to gradually lose solvent around the seal. Once the coating loses enough solvent, it changes the ratio and won't spray correctly.
